ARTISTIC staff

    TIFFANY LAWSON (Artistic Director)   Tiffany Lawson began her training with the Louisville Ballet, University of Louisville Dance Theatre, South East Regional Ballet Association, Regional Dance America, and Governor’s School for the Arts. She earned her BFA from Millikin University, with an Acting major and Dance and Spanish minors. At Millikin, Tiffany choreographed a number of main stage productions and was selected as Senior Company Choreographer, premiering new works on the University's dance company. Notably, she was also President of the Alpha Psi Omega fraternity (of theatre & dance). Following University, Tiffany toured with Prairie Fire Theatre for four seasons, working as an actor, director and choreographer. Upon setting roots in Chicago, Tiffany has worked with dozens of companies, including but not limited to Innervation Dance Company (where she served as Touring and Outreach Coordinator as well as choreographer) and Renegade Dance Architects (of Chicago). While dancing with Renegade Dance Architects (of Chicago) Tiffany has served as Ballet Mistress to the Apprentices as well as the company's Touring Manager. Her choreography on the Renegades has been performed at Dance Chicago's Choreographer's Showcase (choreographer of the year nominee 2012) as well as in the Detroit City Dance Festival. Her choreographic output has ranged from musicals to dance concerts. Her work has been seen at The Chicago Cultural Center, Ruth Page Dance Center, Vittum Theater, Theatre Wit, Shakespeare in the Parks and So You Think You Can Dance: Gatorade/SYTYCD at Hard Rock Cafe. Currently Tiffany is on staff with Equity theatre William Street Rep where she teaches dance for musical theatre, Buffalo Grove where she choreographs for upper level and elite gymnasts and Chicago Ballet Center where she teaches advanced ballet and pointe.     SHAYNA BJERKE (Artistic Director)   Shayna began dancing at age three in her hometown of Onalaska, WI. She studied ballet, modern, jazz, tap, hip-hop, and belly dancing at Marilyn School of Dance. It was during her time there that she had the opportunity to perform and take class in Russia as part of an exchange program. After high school she continued her training while attending Millikin University in Decatur, IL, where she met Tiffany. Upon graduation, Shayna moved to Chicago where she has performed for independent choreographers at various festivals including SoleStance, Dance Chicago, Bonesbare, Elgin Ties, Elgin Fringe, Chicago Fringe, Going Dutch, Detroit Dance City, and Rebound Dance. She has had the privilege of dancing with and choreographing for Innervation Dance Cooperative, Matter Dance Chicago, and Renegade Dance Architects (of Chicago).   KIMBERLY BAKER (Festival Director)   Kimberly Baker is a dancer, choreographer, director, and arts educator celebrating 13 years in Chicago. Along with Tiffany Lawson Dance, Kimberly has danced with numerous Chicago companies, such as Core Project Chicago, The Monocle Eclectic, Shmib dance, Innervation Dance Cooperative, Renegade Dance Architects (of Chicago), and Alliance Dance Company. Also, Baker has danced for independent choreographers such as Christine Hands, Stefany Cotton, Mike Ford and Megan Beseth, Bonnie Christine Willis, and Catherine Tiso. She has recently co-produced and choreographed two full-length modern/contemporary dance concerts,  Sonder , with artist Amanda Ramirez, August 2017 and  CAPTURED ., with artist Charlique Rolle, October 2018. Her work has been featured in numerous concerts and festivals in venues all over the city.   BRIDGET GRISSOM (Rehearsal Director)   Bridget Grissom is a dance artist and teacher from southern Illinois. She has trained extensively in the Cecchetti Method of Ballet and holds a BFA in Dance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In addition to Tiffany Lawson Dance, Bridget is a member of VADCO and has performed in the works of Katelyn Halpern and Nico Brown in New York City.  *Photo by Hillary Sandrock

  HILLARY SANDROCK (Producing Director)   Hillary Sandrock is a food product developer. She has a degree in history and chemistry from Northwestern University, where she also continued her ballet training and pursued lighting design.
